Law enforcement agents seem to always be one step behind narcotics dealers. Police intelligence and National Narcotics Agency (BNN) agents last week raided a facility making liquid narcotics at the MG International Club discotheque in Jakarta that had already been operating for over two years. Narcotics dealers are always looking for new ways to fool law enforcement officers. One way is to 'innovate', including by setting up liquid narcotics "kitchens" like the one at the MG discotheque. The illegal substance was produced and packaged inside the discotheque, which was licensed to operate by the Capital City Special Region Tourism Department. The bandits were able to outwit law enforcers. The liquid narcotics in the MG discotheque was placed inside containers resembling normal drinks bottles. The liquid is colourless. It contains amphetamine, the basic ingredient of the narcotic, which is readily soluble. The blender mixes it with several other chemicals to strengthen its intoxicating effects on the addict. The liquid is then sold in 300 millilitre mineral water bottles for Rp 400,000 each.
