It is widely believed that students are the most vulnerable people when disaster occur because they often do not have access to information and therefore lack the knowledge and skills that would enable them to protect themselves and make correct decisions during these difficult circumstances. Schools or universities can play an important role in disaster education because they often are important centers of community life. Therefore, schools directly impact not only the lives of teachers, students, parents, and their relatives, but also the community as a whole. The majority of students spend most of their time at university determining their future destiny.
Natural disaster learning can be integrated not only in science class, but also in language class. In this book, the writer proposed the disaster education to be taught in English class at university level. Through this book, students are expected to integrate their understanding on natural disasters with English environment. As the result, it is expected that a good teaching and learning atmosphere can be created not only by the teachers, but also by the students who will be actively involved in the learning process.
