APP-based taxis in Indonesia are being accused of undercharging conventional cabs, threatening to sideline them. The aggrieved taxis have lobbied the transportation ministry to block online taxi companies Uber and Grab, charging them with violating the rules. But the consumers are happy with the improved services offered by the online companies, which is confounding the government to no end. Meanwhile, the app-based taxi investors are fighting back, doing their own share of lobbying. How will the government resolve this taxi fare fight?
