why is the tenure of National Police Chief Badrodin Haiti, due to end in July, causing so much heartburn for the President and the political elite? With less than two months to go, President Jokowi is so bent on retaining Badrodin that he is drafting a special legislation for that very purpose. But a few political parties are forestalling this move because they want their candidate, the once-infamous Budi Gunawan, currently Badrodin?s deputy, to be the next police chief. A lot of high-level lobbying going on for that prized top police position.
