From Bintara Jaya, Solihin and Agus headed to Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta. That day they wanted to check on the bomb and determine the location of the bombing. They circled around Istiqlal Mosque, looking for a location for the 'bride' to set out. According to Solihin, Bahrun Naim suggested that the 'bride' walk 500 meters to fool the guards on duty. The two found the right place for the suicide bomber to get out, near the bus parking area. After completing their main objective, Solihin performed a prayer. "I also took photos, but not selfies," he said. The two did not realize that they were being watched by Detachment 88. Solihin and Agus then left Istiqlal Mosque and headed towards Dian's room in Bintara Jaya. As they drove under the flyover in Kalimalang, East Jakarta, police officers moved in and arrested the two. "We closed in and backed off, wondering if it was best to arrest them now or later," said one officer.
