Bachtiar Nasir had asked for time to meet with the President through Lukman only a day before Lebaran. Another approach through Wiranto went through Rizieq Syihab's lawyer, Kapitra Ampera. After Lukman received Jokowi's nod at the Istiqlal Mosque, Wiranto informed Kapitra that the meeting would take place after the open house event. The idea for a friendly meeting began with a letter from Kapitra to Jokowi two weeks ago regarding his client Rizieq Syihab. Rizieq, the leader of the Islam Defenders Front (FPI), has been named as a suspect on charges of producing pornographic content in a lewd chat with Firza Husein, a woman who is not his wife, which then leaked and spread on social media. Kapitra protested against the charges, complaining the evidence in the case was obtained by the police from an invalid source. Fleeing from an accusation of producing pornographic content, Rizieq Syihab lobbied President Joko Widodo to stop the criminal investigation into his case.
